Why Choose Blip Academy?
Our class philosophy incorporates Progressivism, which emphasises learning through exploration and hands-on experience. Children are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, and express themselves creatively, building essential skills in a way that is engaging and relevant.
We also value Essentialism, ensuring students develop strong foundations in core skills such as technique and art theory, which are vital for success in any creative or academic pursuit.
Blip focuses on essential problem-solving skills that extend beyond the art studio, helping children approach challenges in all aspects of life—from schoolwork to personal growth. By nurturing critical and creative thinking, Blip helps students face obstacles with confidence and innovation.
Each term, Blip’s workshops offer a variety of artistic practices for students to experiment with, including acrylics, watercolour, sculpture, clay, photography, weaving, embroidery, printmaking, and more.
Blip’s multifaceted approach enhances artistic skills, encourages self-confidence, fosters social connections, and promotes a deeper appreciation for the creative process.
Bonus, you can leave the mess with us!
What We Offer:
Interactive Lessons: At Blip Academy, learning about art goes beyond techniques. We dive into art history, exploring famous artists, movements, and cultural influences that shape the world.
Small, Supportive Classes: With our small class sizes, every child receives personalised attention and the opportunity to make lasting friendships.
Flexible Learning: We understand that homeschooling is about flexibility. Our classes are designed to accommodate different learning paces in a relaxed, welcoming environment where each child can thrive.
A Variety of Art Projects: From drawing and painting to sculpture and textiles, we explore a wide range of creative techniques. Every project ties into a specific artist, technique or moment in art history, sparking imagination while helping students connect with the global artistic landscape.
Supplementary Learning: Through hands-on art making, supplementary learning experiences naturally emerge as we experiment creatively. These may include activities that enhance hand-eye coordination, cooking, gardening, science, math, communication skills, and engineering concepts.
Each term of classes consists of a mixed curriculum including:
The Fundamentals
Exploring core artistic skills, giving students tools to create with throughout the term.
Artist Study
Gaining inspiration from a wide range of artists while learning about the different ways art can be presented. We select a range of international, local, contemporary and traditional artists to learn from and create our own masterpieces in their style.
Creative Project
An open project that students can fully immerse themselves in, allowing them to make their own original works of art.
