Westbound - Renew Adelaide Market

Event description

Ever dreamed of designing your own shop? You can create your very own tiny shop with Ella from Blip Art School!

In this creative workshop you'll decide what your shop sells, design your shop front, and branding! You'll use markers to draw onto a matchbox and place paper objects inside (depending on what you're planning to sell of course!).

At the end of this workshop, you'll go home with your own tiny store, and an even tinier Renew Adelaide sticker on your shop window! How cute!

This workshop is recommended for ages 6+

Workshop: Matchbox Art with Blip Art School!
Sessions:
 12pm, 1pm, 2pm
Duration:
45 minutes
Location:
USASA Club House, 68 North Terrace (inside Lion Arts Factory Courtyard, near the hospitality stalls).

Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of your workshop, as failure to do so may result in your space being given to someone else. Spaces are limited so please ensure you book tickets responsibly.

Westbound and this event is generously funded by City of Adelaide, and supported by the Adelaide West End Association and University of South Australia. A huge thank you to all involved for working with us to bring this wonderful precinct to life.

Sneaky Things Sneaker Festival

Sneaky Things Sneaker Festival

Sneaky Things Sneaker Festival

Join us for a celebration of sneaker culture with our inaugural Sneaky Things Festival!

Where would we be without Michael Jordan and his Nike Air Jordans? What would have become of us without Marty McFly’s Nike MAG? Name a more controversial art piece than Kanye West’s YEEZY’s…we dare you!

From kids to adults we all have a vivid memory of the sneakers we needed and craved. The ones we saved up for. The ones we wore everyday until they were falling apart. The ones we never took out of the box because they were art to be admired.

At the City of PAE we recognise that everyone’s shoes tell a different story, and we want to tell that story. We want our community to have the opportunity to be part of the social history of sneakers and get involved in this cultural phenomenon.

You can participate in;

- Sneaker and art marketplace
- Sneaker collection displays
- Art exhibition
- Come and try sports such as pickle ball, badminton and basketball
- Entertainment form DJs, break dancing and cheer
- Guest speakers and their experience on how sneakers have played different roles in their lives
- Sneaker customisation
- Sneaker cleaning and restoration
- Lacing techniques
